When we started EWA India, the first question everyone asked was: "Why just one speaker?" It's a fair question. Most brands launch with a range. It shows optionality, makes you look established, gives people something to compare. So why didn't we?
Because one thing done well beats five things done okay
The EWA A127 is a machined aluminium Bluetooth speaker with a silicone carry loop, Bluetooth 5.3, IPX7 splash resistance, and eight anodized colour finishes. That's the whole product. It's not a product line — it's a product.
When you focus on one thing, every decision you make is about making that one thing better. The shape. The weight. The sound profile. The loop. The colours. When you're juggling five SKUs, your attention gets split five ways.
"A product that sells itself is the most interesting product there is."
That's what happened in the hostel room. I wasn't pitching. I wasn't marketing. Someone heard the speaker, walked over, and asked what it was. That's the product doing the work. That's what we're trying to preserve.
The colours are the range
Eight anodized finishes — Matte Black, Warm White, Lavender, Sage Green, Blush Pink, Navy, Terracotta, and Olive. Same speaker, same price, different personality. That's enough variety to give people a choice without diluting what the product is.
What comes next
Eventually, yes, there will be more. We have ideas. We have a product roadmap. But we're not going to talk about what's next until we've earned the right to do it — and earning it means doing the A127 justice first.
One speaker. Eight colours. Done properly. That's the whole plan for now.
- Focus beats range — especially early in a brand's life
- Eight colours give real variety without fragmenting the product identity
- Anodized aluminium means the colour is structural, not cosmetic
- A product that sells itself is more valuable than one you have to push
